Philosophy
I believe there is one power, one presence and one energy In and around all life that expresses through many teachers both ancient and contemporary. This presence, known by many names responds directly to my thoughts, actions and feelings, and in partnership with my mind and heart, creates my reality. Heaven and hell are merely states of consciousness and my experience on earth is in direct relationship to the consciousness I am holding and the actions that I take.
As I acknowledge that every person, every experience and every living thing is an outpicturing of this one power and is animated by the same spirit that animates my life, I wake up to the truth that as I give I shall receive. How I treat others, mother earth and every situation that comes across my path is an invitation for the world to extend the same energy to me. My life experience is determined not by outward conditions that I cannot control, but by my internal feelings, reactions and intentions that I can control. Prayer is the tool I use to focus my mind and direct my thoughts toward a better life experience.
Spending time arguing about this infinite power or which theology is the "correct" one is a lesson in futility and only serves as a distraction to living my life as a being that reflects the goodness I believe in. It has been said that the only bible some people will ever read will be your life. Living my life as an example of the light that I believe God to be, is the only true testament to my spiritual walk, and to the validity of my belief system; so I practice the religion of kindness, the religion of compassion, the religion of forgiveness and the religion of service to humanity. I practice the religion of love, peace, balance and understanding. I practice the religion of play, joy and laughter. I practice the religion of having the eyes, the ears and the heart to see the spirit of God in every person.
